Denton, TX singer-songwriter Tobias recently released their label debut on True Panther, Two Birds. The record culminates in a visionary and compulsively listenable record that lays honest, insightful lyrics against a lush backdrop of harsh metals and rhythmic folk. Two Birds is a kind of mission statement, intimate and inspired, borne of seclusion and intense contemplation: of youth, of reinvention, of the self, and even of quantum physics. It whispers in your ear, and then it howls.

Heavy Duty is thrilled to announce the signing of British artist and songwriter, Billy Nomates.
Nomates, whose real name is Tor Maries, has released 2 albums on Geoff Barrow of Portishead’s label, Indaba Records. Her first album, the self titled Billy Nomates, was released in 2020 and quickly gained critical attention from BBC Radio. DJ Amy Lamé chose Billy Nomates’s as “Album of the Year” in 2020. She released the Emergency Telephone EP in October 2021, and just this year released the incredible CACTI, both produced by herself and Geoff Barrow.
Billy describes her music as no-wave, we also hear a little post-punk. Either way, this UK rebellion music just rocks.
